Settled with Wells Fargo last year, BUT ...
|
|
|
They promised on 12/14/01 upon receipt of the signed settlement agreement:
"Upon receipt, we will advise Equifax in writing to delete the 7/19/01 inquiry, and provide you with a copy of the letter."
I never got a copy of that letter, and they didn't delete the inquiry.
On 7/10/02: "07/19/2001 INQ-Wells FARGO"
Next time I checked it was 9/1 and it wasn't there anymore.
Apparently they had the inquiry changed from "FK" to "INQ."
It wasn't deleted. Is there anything I can do about that?

Being clueless, what is the difference or significance of changing (the coding?) from "FK" to "INQ"?
You could always play dumb and send Wells' Fargo a copy of you 7/02 report with a copy of their letter and let them know their in violation of the ruling and expect them to remove any and all inquiries regarding this issue.

FK may indicate a collection inquiry, not sure. "INQ" was ignored by the scores and it already got deleted. Looks like they only stay on for a year.
I was just wondering if their failure to delete would void the settlement agreement.
