Suing Collection Agencies
|
|
|
I've searched this sight and have come across numerous questions regarding suing CRA's. I would like to know if anyone has ever sued a Collection Agency ? I'm dealing with an unbelieveable amount of violations, ie. the alleged debt being unproven and fraudulant.
I appreciate any input.

Trixie...the first case on this sight was against a collection agency. If you click on the link at the bottom left of the page that says ProSet Litigant Home, you will find the links on the top left of the page. The first case.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the direction.
I guess I was talking more about posts to the website and caselaw in general.
I'm getting the feeling that its easier to settle with the CA's rather than take them to court.
Wouldn't it be nice if Congress changed the language for Civil Penalties to read "per violation" instead of "per action". This would put the collection agencies on notice to contain their violations.
Just a few thoughts.

Hmmm...I haven't looked lately, but I thought I'd posted a number of FDCPA cases in the caselaw section. If you have specific things you are interested in...just let us know. I definately do not believe its easier to settle with the CA's than sue them. Unless you don't mind the account remaining on your credit report, of course.
