News - November 11, 2002

When Whyspers decided to take this site down, I offered to host Pro Se.The publication of Whyspers' federal complaints against LJ Ross and Experian is definitily worth the cost and effort.

Out of nowhere came Donna and offered to fix the broken links, even the forum is readable. THANKS!!!

NOTE: The Pro Se Forum is READ only.

This site started out as a place for me to post a chronicle of my experiences in representing myself in Federal Court. It has suddenly (in a matter of days) begun to develop into much more than that.

I had found myself in the position of needing to file a lawsuit and found myself in a quandry. I work for a law firm and I didn't think they would be too happy if I hired someone outside the firm. I think they might have been hurt should I have done so, and since I think they are the best in their field...I wouldn't want to go elsewhere anyway.

On the other hand, the entire situation is embarrassing and the last thing I would want to do is put any one of the partners on the spot by asking them to represent me in this sort of matter. Let's face it...attorneys aren't exactly falling all over themselves to get these types of cases. Somehow, a derogatory entry on a credit report automatically makes you suspect.

So to make a long story short, when it became apparent that the only option remaining to me was to either give up or file suit...I did it myself. I know many others have taken this path and I felt a forum where issues pertaining to representing yourself in a lawsuit against a credit reporting agency or information provider (whether it be an original creditor or a collection agency) would be very useful.

I hope you are able to find something helpful at this site, and welcome contributions.

NOTE: I am NOT an attorney and cannot and do not give legal advice. The information listed on this website is a chronicle of my own journey and should not be relied upon as accurate or as something you should use in your own situation. I would always recommend you consult an attorney for legal advice. Despite filing this lawsuit Pro Se, I do believe in the old saying that "he who has himself for a client represents a fool".

Whyspers' cases

Whyspers v. LJ Ross

The collector failed to validate and verified the credit bureau dispute.

They settled for $500 (got off easy) and the settlement agreement and the scanned check are posted.

Whyspers v. Experian and XXX

Experian re-aged upon dispute and the creditor ignored her attempts to find out what the alleged debt was about. Whyspers did not recognize the creditor.

Both defendants settled with a confidentiality agreement. I believe that Whyspers rejected Experian's $3,000 offer, so I assume she settled for more.
